Just a gentle reminder that the annual “Ride and Stride” event takes place this year on Saturday 14th September – (put the date in your diary!)
Firstly a great big thank you to all Churches who took part last year, even though the weather was unusually hot, helping to raise much needed funds. The Ride & Stride event is, as usual, open to all whether is cycling, driving or even walking – (possibly a short horse ride between) around all the beautiful Churches and Chapels in our area.
It’s so easy to take part, get friends to join with you too, get sponsors and help a Church near you – monies raised is divided equally between the Church of your choice and the Trust – a number of the Churches visited may have a coffee morning and/or put on refreshments (drinks and/or hot and cold food), so be prepared.

We are fortunate to have such a wide variety of buildings from Grade 1 listed down to smaller independent Chapels and/or Churches tucked away from the main roads. You could find beautiful architectural features including gargoyles, rood screens, tombs, stained glass, paintings or stunning carvings. Take photographs from your travels and enter the special photo competition or any of the other competitions.
